“Fragrance Evolution: Trends, Opportunities and Future” forum at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre, unveiling the 2025 Hong Kong and Macau Fragrance Market Trends White Paper

Eternal Group hosted the “Fragrance Evolution” forum at the Hong Kong Convention Centre, launching the 2025 Hong Kong and Macau Fragrance Market Trends White Paper with the International Fragrance Association. Executive Director Wendy Lau highlighted the paper’s key insight: the market is shifting from sensory enjoyment to fulfilling emotional wellness needs. The forum featured industry leaders like CEO Chole Lam, K11’s Horace Lam, and singer Mayao Ma, exploring fragrance’s expanding role in retail and lifestyle.

Key data reveals 81% now use home fragrances daily (up 9%), 86% link scents to emotional wellness, and 70% prefer fragrance-designed commercial spaces, underscoring the deepening integration of scent into daily life and the growing olfactory economy.

In the Strategic Insights session, Ms. Cindy Zhong, Director of General Affairs at Eternal Group, and Ms. Elly Yip, Head of SME One, Hong Kong Productivity Council, shared practical guidance for brands entering the Chinese market. They introduced the Group’s compliance filing channel and 360 omni-channel operation model, which enable international brands to efficiently establish a presence. The session also explored how Hong Kong government funding schemes can support market expansion, offering actionable strategies for navigating the application process.

Building on these insights, the Group is advancing its dual-track strategy of Local Brand Matrix and Perfume Box Retail Upgrade, and will launch its first immersive fragrance experiential flagship store in Hong Kong in 2026. This milestone underscores the Group’s vision to lead the industry into a “New Era of Emotional Wellness”, fostering deep integration between global fragrance innovation and China’s evolving consumer market.
